My weakness is...I HAVE NO WEAKNESS!
Yesterday you wrote about your weaknesses. Now you will spin those weaknesses into positive attributes! Example: Procrastination = I like to make sure I am fully informed before I take on projects.... (My procrastination, which has a negative connotation, turns positive when I spin it to waiting for all information before acting...) Your turn!! :-) P.S. - today is our last day in the lab to work on "Work" writing. Tomorrow we are back to the class and our usual Friday activities- Don't forget a book/magazine/etc.!

Step Two: Creating a working thesis statement!
Now that you have completed step one by choosing a topic, it is time to move to step two: creating a working thesis.
You no doubt know by now that your thesis statement is the argument you will prove through evidence in your writing. However, it is difficult to create a thesis statement sometimes if you do not know too much about your topic just yet. This is why we will be using a working thesis. You will need to create a thesis statement, but it will most likely alter slightly as we develop your paper and find data and evidence.
Today in class, you will create the "first draft" of your thesis statement.
Use the following websites to help you create a strong thesis statement you will be able to develop for your paper. When you have your statement, be sure to check it against the checklist listed below. If you can answer "YES" to all the questions, you have a good thesis statement.
